📝 Grammar

〜から（理由）

〜から for reasons

Use 'Sentence 1 から、Sentence 2' to say 'because S1, (so) S2'. The から-clause usually comes first in polite speech.

Patterns

さむいですから、コートをきます。

Because it is cold, I wear a coat.

いそがしいですから、いけません。

Because I am busy, I cannot go.

Examples

あしたはやすみですから、うちでゆっくりします。

Ashita wa yasumi desu kara, uchi de yukkuri shimasu.

Because tomorrow is a day off, I will relax at home.

〜です。だから、〜です。

Sentence. Therefore, sentence.

Another way is to use だから between two sentences.

Examples

Ame desu. Dakara, dekakemasen.

It's raining. So, I won't go out.

きょうはしごとがたくさんあります。あさからかいぎがありますから、とてもいそがしいです。だから、友だちとあそびません。

Kyou wa shigoto ga takusan arimasu. Asa kara kaigi ga arimasu kara, totemo isogashii desu. Dakara, tomodachi to asobimasen.

I have a lot of work today. I have meetings from the morning, so I'm very busy. So I won't hang out with friends.
